The Grand Canyon is a repository of time, a geological epic that unfolds with each layer of rock, a visual chronicle of the Earth’s history. In this series, I have chosen to present the canyon in monochrome, stripping away the distraction of colour to focus on the raw essence of its form. The absence of colour serves as a canvas, allowing the interplay of light and shadow to emphasize the intricate details of each rock stratum.
My approach to capturing the Grand Canyon is guided by a desire to convey a sense of abstraction, transforming the familiar into the extraordinary. I seek to provoke a sense of wonder and reverence for the forces that have shaped this awe-inspiring terrain.
